Erika Bro is a dedicated and motivated professional pursuing a career in the field of Health Education and Health Promotion. As a graduate from Western Washington University, she attained degrees in Community Health and Spanish and a minor in International Studies. This past year she has completed a Public Health Internship with the Tandana Foundation in Ecuador, served as a Community Health Educator with Sahayatri Nepal, and contributed to the interactive sub-plenary session “Art as a Tool and Bridge for Health Promotion” at the IUHPE World Conference on Health Promotion in Curitiba, Brazil. Her passions are people, health, advocacy, and action. Leveraging a background of cross-cultural endeavors and cultivating relationships to empower marginalized groups, she seeks to raise awareness on issues concerning health and human rights, encourage dialogues, and make community resources more readily available and accessible. Today she seeks to apply her skill set globally by addressing sensitive subjects and providing a safe environment inclusive and supportive regardless of sex, gender, race, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, or ability. She is currently enrolled to begin the Master of International Public Health program at the University of Sydney in March 2017.
